Common questions,
straight answers.

No. The program is 100% free for workers. Training, visa fees, housing, and certification costs are paid by the US employers who hire through CraftCorps. You will never be asked to pay fees, sign wage deduction agreements, or take on debt to participate.
It depends on the program. The H-2B Work Visa pathway provides temporary work authorization (6–12 months). The H-2B + Training pathway extends H-2B authorization with deeper on-the-job training. The EB-3 Permanent pathway results in a green card, which makes you eligible to petition for immediate family members (spouse and children). Our immigration attorneys handle all filings — you don't need to navigate this alone.
Typically 6–12 months from acceptance to first day on-site. H-2B visa processing varies by country and labor market conditions but usually takes 4–6 months. EB-3 is a longer process (4–6 years from application to green card). We'll give you an honest estimate when you apply based on your country and visa pathway.
Basic conversational English is helpful but not required to apply. Our training program includes jobsite English as part of the curriculum. Your bilingual site supervisor will support you during the first 90 days. Many of our workers begin with minimal English and are fully functional on the jobsite within weeks.
CraftCorps provides fully furnished shared housing near your assigned jobsite during training and for the first 3–6 months of your placement. Housing is covered as part of your program — no cost to you. After that, we help you transition to independent housing with references and local guidance.
Starting wages vary by trade and location, but CraftCorps workers typically earn $22–$38/hr in their first placement — well above median US construction wages. Experienced workers and those who complete the full Apprenticeship Bridge earn at the higher end. Overtime and crew bonuses are common on luxury residential projects.
No. We accept applicants at all experience levels, including those with no formal training. What matters most is work ethic, reliability, and genuine interest in learning a trade. Our training program will take you from entry-level to certified — that's the point.
